QR code help
Can I edit a QR code after it is printed?
Only if it is a managed (dynamic) code. A static code stores its content in the image, so changing the content means a new image. A managed code lets you change the destination while the printed link stays the same.
Common causes
- A static code was used where the content later changed.
- The destination address changed but the printed code points to the old one.
How to fix it
- Check which kind of code you printed. A static code has no editable destination.
- If it is static and you control the web page, change the page at that address. If you do not, create a new code and replace the print.
- If it is managed, open it in the workspace and edit the destination. The change applies to the same printed code.
- If you must keep using printed static codes, cover them with a corrected sticker only as a last resort and test it.
How to prevent it
Use a managed code for anything that may change: menus, campaigns, event pages, offers.
Frequently asked questions
Is the old destination saved?
Yes. Destination edits create versions, and you can restore an earlier one.
Does editing break the printed image?
No. The image and short link stay the same.
